Ballers 3 Rules for Players!

1. RESPECT

Respect your coach and teammates by listening when they’re speaking. Look at the person talking, and no bouncing balls while someone is speaking.

2. 100% EFFORT

Give 100% effort at all times. Mistakes are a part of learning, and at Ballers, we want you to make them so you can improve. As long as you turn up and give your best—to yourself, your teammates, and your coach—we will always be proud of you.

3. HAVE FUN

Basketball is fun. Never forget why you started playing. We want you to compete, give your best, and enjoy every moment of this amazing sport. Turn up, play hard, and most importantly—have fun.

# CLUB VALUES

For our players, parents and community

At Ballers, we love what we do. This club was founded with one clear purpose: to create a basketball environment where youth players are always the priority.

Our mission is to provide a space where young athletes can grow, improve, and most importantly, enjoy the game. From the start, we’ve taken deliberate steps to make sure the mindset of our coaches and team leaders reflects that goal. Every person behind the scenes comes from a playing or coaching background, and as we grow, we will continue to train and mentor any new coaches to ensure consistency in how we support and develop our players.

We’re here because we care.
Everyone involved in Ballers—our founder, coaches, team managers, and admin team—are volunteers. We give our time because we genuinely love this sport and the impact it can have on young people. We ask for your patience, understanding, and support. We value every family in our club and welcome respectful, open conversations if you ever need to reach out.

Our approach: a healthy balance.
Ballers blends the best of domestic and representative basketball. Like rep, we focus on high-quality training. Like domestic, we aim to give all players fair opportunities on the court.
During the first 8 weeks of grading, the focus is on development—training hard and putting those skills into action during games. After grading, we aim for a balanced approach, factoring in both effort and performance, while keeping team morale and enjoyment front and centre. In order to give the girls wins for morale and self confidence, court time may not always be equal, but our dedication to their improvement and our focus on each player will always be equal. All we ask is to trust the process.

We are focused on using our players’ strengths in games. Players will be assigned positions—forward, guard, or centre—based on their strengths, and we’ll work on their weaker areas during training. Our coaches assess each player to help them reach their full potential and will design drills specifically to support their development.

At Ballers, we do not reward players solely based on scoring. In professional basketball, athletes are recognised for points, assists, blocks, and rebounds—but in domestic competitions, often only points are recorded. We don’t believe that tells the full story. Please help us reinforce this with your child: their value as a player goes far beyond how many points they score. Basketball is a team sport, and preventing the opposition from scoring is just as important as putting points on the board.

Sportsmanship comes first.
We are committed to creating a positive, respectful club culture. That means:

  • Parents, we would love you to support your team from the sidelines—but keep it positive.

  • No trash talking, clapping at an opponent’s mistakes, arguing with referees, or sideline coaching.

  • Our players are taught to let their game do the talking. If they face poor sportsmanship, they’re encouraged to respond with good basketball and speak to their coach.

Let’s build something great—together.
We’re proud of the community we’re creating, and we know it takes all of us—players, parents, and coaches—to build something special. Let’s keep communication open, stay positive, and continue growing Ballers into a club we’re all proud of.

Thank you for being a part of our community
